.txt files keep being truncated after downloading from ebooks

After setting up the ebooks channel under IRChighway on Colloquy (v. 2.4.3, Mac OS X), I tried to download a file. For whatever reason, I got "The document “[Whatever Book]” could not be opened. The file isn’t in the correct format."

I'm not entirely sure what to do about this. Is it something with the settings of my torrent client (sorry, I'm new to this)? Help is appreciated.
